Baking courses

There has been a lot of demand for us to do sourdough courses - we can finally offer that and in January we will open the doors to our first sourdough courses and spinning course. And we are really looking forward to it!


Come along to the bakery and learn how to make sourdough buns and bread. We'll take you through the journey from autolysis, to kneading and to the finished bread or buns. We'll show you a flow test, a folding and tell you about all the mistakes we've made along the way, so you can be successful with sourdough baking at home. We'll take you on a journey into the world of sourdough that will allow you to be successful with sourdough baking at home - without having to make any major investments.


You will receive sourdough bun dough to take home as well as active sourdough to continue baking at home.


In addition to the sourdough course, we offer two courses in snorre. You decide what flavor your snorre should be - you even get to take them home so you can bake them the next day.

We will show you how to spin our spinners, we will give you tips and tricks for good spinners and we will bake a few pieces together for you to take home. You will take the rest home and can bake the next day.

Come to Præstø and enjoy a 5 km walk around Præstø and the surrounding area. The walk is designed so that everyone can participate and we walk at a pace where everyone can join in.

Behind the bakery

My name is Michelle and I am the owner and entrepreneur behind Præstø Bagværk. I have always loved running food stores, which is what most of my working life has been about. I have always loved being in the kitchen - especially baking.


I was born and raised in Præstø, and when I got an opportunity to have a small stall at the Gyldne Dage festival in Præstø in 2023, I jumped at the chance and sold a lot of bread. The fall of 2023 brought a storm and in that connection my father - who is also a businessman in Præstø - had to find new premises. This is where the idea of merging our shops into a beautiful and historic building came from. From idea to action and on March 25, 2024, I opened the doors to my small bakery.


After 16 years of absence from Præstø, I have moved back, where I take care of the small bakery on a daily basis, delivering a lot of lovely bread, pastries and cakes to Præstø and the surrounding area.


We have 10-12 employees employed in the bakery and each one has great importance for the bakery and the daily operations.


The bakery is open every day of the week, all year round.
